Brenda “Kay” Stroupe Petefish, 67, passed from this life to the next on Friday, February 5, 2021. She lived in Broadway, Va.
She was born on June 28, 1953, in Luray, Va., to Calvin and Janet Stroupe, who preceded her in death.
On June 27, 1971, she married Robert Conrad Petefish of Stanley, who survives.
She is also survived by two children, Rebecca Housden and husband Larry of Stanley, and Aaron “Scott” Petefish and wife Paige of Harrisonburg; and seven grandchildren, Jade Housden, Rachel Housden, Madison Petefish, Aryn Petefish, Lexi Petefish, Blayn Petefish and Parker Petefish.
In addition her husband, children and grandchildren, she is survived by four brothers, Steve Stroupe and wife Monica, Tommy Stroupe and wife Deb, Mark Stroupe and wife Kim, and Timothy “Pee Wee” Stroupe; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kay was best known for her smile and larger-than-life laugh. She never met a stranger and considered everyone family. The biggest joy in her life was her grandchildren, and she could often be found in her chair with all seven sitting with her.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, at the Graves Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.
Due to COVID restrictions, facial coverings are mandatory.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
