Wednesday’s Region 2B track meet may be rescheduled, decision midday

LURAY, May 28 — Luray High School Athletic Director Don Ehlers reported Wednesday morning that all district tournaments in the Bull Run have been canceled due to the weather.
“The Bull Run District Spring Tournaments and JV Championships have been cancelled,” Ehlers reported around 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Last week, a decision was made to trim the district tournaments down to the Top 4 teams in baseball, softball and soccer, with semifinals planned for Wednesday and Bull Run championships on Friday. The adjustments were made to accommodate rescheduled make-up games due to an abundance of wet weather late in the spring seasons.
Today’s decision cancels the Bull Run tournaments altogether — which would have had little to no bearing on the seedings for Region 2B tournaments.
“A decision will be made on the Region 2B track meet today at [East Rockingham] between noon and 1 p.m.,” Ehlers announcement stated.
The region track meet would be rescheduled, if it doesn’t happen on Wednesday, rather than canceled.
