LURAY, Oct. 26 — Both Luray and Page County dropped their first round quarterfinal match in the Bull Run District volleyball tournament on the road Monday.

The Bulldogs (11-9) fell to Clarke (14-7) in three straight sets. Luray had lost to Clarke 11 days earlier 3-1. After starting the season at 11-4, Luray dropped their last five regular season matches. Now the Bulldogs await the seedings for the Region B tournament, which begins Nov. 1. Clarke advances to take on East Rockingham (15-4) in a district semifinal tonight (Tuesday).

The Panthers (7-11) lost their district quarterfinal to Madison (13-6). After working through a seven-game losing streak earlier in the season, Page ended the regular season with four consecutive wins, including a tough 3-2 win over Rappahannock at home on Friday. The Panthers also now await the seedings for the Region B tournament. Madison advances to the other district semifinal tonight against Central (18-3).

The Bull Run district championship will be played on Thursday, Oct. 28 at the higher seed.

The Region B volleyball tournament begins with the quarterfinals on Monday, Nov. 1. The semifinals are slated for Thursday, Nov. 4, with the region championship scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 9.
