Burrill named Bull Run ‘Player of the Year’

LHS VB v PCHS-Burrill 03-23-21
LHS senior Brynlee Burrill spikes one of her 15 kills against rival Page County.

In addition to leading her team to the Region 2B championship last week, Luray High School senior volleyball player Brynlee Burrill was named the Bull Run District “Player of the Year.”

Burrill’s play at the net provided a lot of offense this season as she lead the LHS volleyball team in kills. She was followed closely by sophomore Jaidyn McClung, who also earned first team All-District honors, along with junior Trinity Belton.

Senior Baylee Burrill and sophomore Linday Bly earned second team All-District honors.

On Tuesday night, the Bulldogs (11-3) host Region A winner Poquoson at 6 p.m. for a 2A state semifinal. The winer will head to the 2A state championship on either Friday or Saturday at the home court of either the Region C or D champion.
