Cable TV coming to Shenandoah

HISTORY train Luray

April 17, 1989 — Adelphia Cable anticipates being able to start hooking the Town of Shenandoah into the new 60-channel capacity system as early as next week, according to General Manager James Kitchen.

Kitchen said Monday that the company has tentatively set the week of April 17 to begin connecting customers in the southern Page County town. Kitchen said hook- ups have been going“quite well” in Elkton, which should be completed by the end of this week.

Meanwhile, towns north of Shenandoah are also seeing work being done on extending the new system to them.

“The majority of the cable is up in Stanley, and we’re in the process of moving toward Luray,” Kitchen said.
