August 26, 1965 — The canning factory of Moyers Brothers at Stony Man has started production employing some one hundred people.

Moyer Brothers are among the largest independent canners of peaches and recently have installed considerable labor saving machinery including pitters for removing seeds automatically.

Brand names used for Moyer Peaches are Page Valley, Luray Caverns and Stony Man.

Capacity of the plant is approximately 7,500 cases a day with a seasons production of about 100,000 cases.

Most 1965 peaches are coming from the Winchester and Roanoke areas and some east of the ridge.
