Age 74, Stanley, Va.
Carol Lynn Moreland, 74, of Stanley, Virginia, passed away on September 15, 2026, at Page Memorial Hospital.
Carol never knew a stranger. To so many, she was lovingly known simply as “Momma Carol.” Her home and her heart were always open, and she spent much of her life not only raising her own children, but also loving, caring for, and looking after everyone else’s children as if they were her own.
Carol will be remembered for her kind and loving heart and, above all, for being the glue that held her family together. She was someone her family could depend on, a source of comfort and unconditional love, and a steady presence through every season of life. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
Carol is survived by her two daughters, Melodie Breeden and Kaila Lang; two sisters, Bonnie and Brenda; two brothers, Allen and Roger; three granddaughters, Britney, Skylar, and Avery; one grandson, Matthew; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Layla. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and the many people who were fortunate enough to be loved by “Momma Carol.”
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Betty Jean and Hubert Uber; one brother, Randy; and her nephew, Kilo.
Carol’s family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Page Memorial Hospital and Page County EMS for the compassion, kindness, and care they provided to Carol and her family.
A service celebrating Carol’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stanley Volunteer Rescue Squad in Carol’s memory.
Carol leaves behind a family forever changed by her absence, but immeasurably blessed by the love she gave them. To know Carol was to be welcomed, cared for, and loved — and that is how “Momma Carol” will always be remembered.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
