July 9, 1964 — E. Frank Cubbage, Central District maintenance foreman of Shenandoah National Park, was presented a cash award by Park Superintendent R. Taylor Hoskins at a staff meeting on July 1. The letter of transmittal to Mr. Cubbage read as follows:
“I am pleased to inform you that you have been granted, under the Department’s Incentive Awards Program, a cash award of $300 in recognition of your work performance at Shenandoah National Park. The recommendation initiated by your supervisors in the area cites your constant devotion and service to the Park, your continued efforts to do the best job possible, and your day- to-day performance of duties that far exceeds the normality expected.”
Mr. Cubbage has worked for the National Park Service since 1938 and is responsible for the maintenance of roads, trails, and developed areas in the Central District of the Park. He is a native of Stanley, where he presently is living.
