
May 16, 1965 — Two men are being held in Page County jail and a third is free on $3,000 bond charged with the felonious assault and robbery of an Alma restaurant and service station operator early Friday morning. The three men are all from Stanley. The victim of the attack and robbery, Thomas B. Troy, 54, operates the Hilltop Restaurant and Service Station on U.S. 340 near Alma. He told Deputy Sheriff Aldine Painter that the men entered his place of business about 3 a.m. Friday and robbed him of $46 and a .22 calibre pistol, after they had hit him on the head with a soft drink bottle and beat him with fists. Troy was not hospitalized but was treated by a physician. Deputy Sheriff Painter arrested the three men about 11a.m. Friday in Stanley. The stolen pistol was recovered.
