January 11, 1962 — Luray water users will be taxed beginning in April in order to accumulate a fund for the improvement of the water system. This was the unanimous vote of the town council Monday evening.
Beginning with the April billing each water user will pay a flat monthly charge of $1 to build this fund which will be used solely for water supply and distribution.
There are about 1,000 water users in Luray so that the levy should produce about $12,000 per annum.
