June 11, 1990 — Annie Lee G. Clark, a second grade and transitional first grade teacher at Stanley Elementary, has been chosen as the Page News and Courier’s 1990 “Teacher of the Year.” The award, presented by the county weekly newspaper for the fourth year, recognizes a teacher’s initiative, involvement in school and community affairs and dedication to the field of teaching.

“In my 29th year of teaching, I find I’ve loved every minute of my job — or almost every minute,” Mrs.Clark said. “Teaching is all I’ve ever wanted to do.”

Two other teachers were cited with honorable mention awards. They are Randy Bailey, a fourth grade teacher at Luray Elementary School, and Daniel Hernley, a sixth and seventh grade math and science teacher at Springfield Elementary School.
