Regional breweries, distilleries, wineries on display at fairgrounds Saturday

LURAY — Since 2018, the Taste of the Valley Festival has been growing in popularity. Last year, the festival drew around 300 in attendance with the expectation of 400 this year. Participants travel from a variety of destinations.
“With Page County being the tourist destination that it is, we get people coming from all over,” said festival organizer Daniel Waters, noting attendees from New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
The 2025 festival, with its mix of breweries, wineries, and more, is set for 4 to 9 p.m on Saturday, June 14 at the Page Valley Fairgrounds in Luray.
In 2018, Waters was on the Page Valley Fair’s board of directors and started conversations about what the board could do outside of the annual county fair to help generate revenue.
“Someone said, well Page County hasn’t had a wine festival in years, maybe we can do that,” Waters recalled.
The festival serves as a fundraiser for the Page Valley Fair to help with building renovations and upgrades. Local businesses are at the forefront of this festival.
“We have a lot of wineries that are typically smaller and may not be as well known as some of your big ones,” Waters said.
Cobbler Mountain Hard Cider is coming back for this year’s festival. The last time that they attended, they sold out of their stock. Twisted Pines Farm & Vineyard is one of the new vendors attending this year’s festival. Vendors have typically been based out of Virginia, according to Waters.
“I did have a craft vendor for the first one out of Delaware,” he said.
In addition to beverage vendors, there will be food vendors and live music from the bands “Cazhmiere” and “The 184s”, an alternative rock band based out of Virginia.
Tickets start at $25 for an “early bird” special and cost $35 at the door. With the purchase of a ticket, consumers receive a “Taste of the Valley” 5 oz. frosted cup and six beverage vendor tickets. Additional beverage vendor tickets may be purchased at $5 for one or four for $20.
RV camping sites may be reserved upon request with water and electric hookups. Seating areas will be provided with picnic tables and benches. There are also large pop up tents placed over some of the picnic tables for shade. Water stations will be available for use as well.
