LURAY, Sept. 6 — The Page County Public Forum is preparing for another online panel discussion about another timely topic, “Health Check” with area practitioners. Three panelists are scheduled for the forum, which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Among the issues to be discussed regarding the COVID-19 pandemic are new COVID variants, FDA approval of vaccines, booster shots, maintaining mental health during a pandemic and assessing mental health resources online. The three panelists include:
• Dr. Colin Greene, director of the Lord Fairfax Health District, who will address what’s new with the pandemic.
• Elisabeth Alger, a licensed clinical social worker, who will speak about ways to ease mental stress and maintain mental health during a pandemic.
• Renee Sours, a licensed clinical social worker, who will give tips on assessing mental health resources online.
The panel discussion follows last month’s forum focusing on efforts to broaden high-speed internet accessibility in Page County. In October, the grassroots group looks to enlighten the community on the creation and early results from a new “drug court” created in the county.
To participate in Wednesday night’s forum, members of the community may join the Zoom meeting at:
