Concert given at Female Institute

Luray College

February 6, 1890 — The first musical entertainment of the Luray Female Institute was given in the large ball of the Institute building last Friday evening, the exercises beginning at 7:30 o’clock.

The program was made up of instrumental duets, trios and quartettes, interspersed with vocal music. The audience was well pleased with the whole performance, the general expression being that the concert was a wonderful success.

The character of the music rendered bore ample testimony both to the skill and the diligence of the teachers employed in the musical department of this school, and evinced the presence of no small degree of musical talent among the pupils.
