David Allen Eppard

David Allen Eppard

Age 72, Jollet Hollow, Va.

David went home to his heavenly father on Sunday, October 29, 2023. He was born on January 13, 1951, in Jollett Hollow area of Page County, and was the son of the late David N. Eppard and Wilda (Lam) Eppard, but raised by his loving grandparents Percy and Hazel Lam.

David was united in marriage to Bonnie Kaye (Davis) Eppard on October 29, 1982. She was Davids saving grace and who went to be with the lord April 27, 1999.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Eppard.

David was a member of the Jollett Bible Mission and loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed gardening and always shared his vegetables with family, friends, or anyone who needed them. He was often riding country backroads listening to the NASCAR race on Sundays. He regularly played poker and often had his guitar in hand eager to teach someone how to play. His greatest joy was his family, and his greatest accomplishment was being a Dad. He never walked away without saying “I Love You”. He retired after many years as a carpenter.

He truly loved the gift of giving, and for him to give a gift or small token to bring a smile to someone’s face was the return of his own happiness even though he battled hardships himself, he battled through it to give others a smile and laugh at all times. He always took time for the grandkids and loved time spent with each and every one. David would want everyone to find Jesus and to always say “I Love You” every chance you get, and to pass a smile or a laugh to those who do not possess their own.

David is survived by a son, Pete Meadows, and wife, Sandy of Stanley; daughters, Pamela Meadows of Elkton, Wendie Eppard and Companion, Eric Waybright of Shenandoah; Brothers, Larry (Boot) Eppard and wife, Donna, Darell (Dolly) Eppard, Danny Eppard, Forrest (Toby) Eppard, Carlton (Squeaky) Eppard; a sister, Julie (Sissy) Eppard; grandchildren, Tyrah Eppard, Hunter Meadows, Jurnee (Bug) Meadows, Justice (P) Eppard and companion, Jake Shifflett, Kaiden (Bubby) Fitzwater; great-grandchildren, Arya Bowman, and Ariella Smith.
