Diana “Pixie” Dobbs Graves, 96, of Harrisonburg, VA passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at her home.
Mrs. Graves was born on August 6, 1929 in Shenandoah, VA and was the daughter of the late Harry Allen Dobbs and Cleva Long Dobbs.
She graduated from Shenandoah High School and went on to attend Madison College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She worked as a teacher and librarian for Page and Rockingham County Schools as well as Harrisonburg City Public Schools.
On August 10, 1950 she married Robert Alston “Bob” Graves and after 60 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on April 5, 2011.
Surviving family members include her son, Scott Graves and wife, Catherine; her daughter, Sande Lutz and husband, Donnie; six grandchildren, Jennifer Graves, Katlyn Early, Hailey Hensley and husband, Nicholas, Rea Hiser, Elisha Hiser and wife, Cybl and Tema Payette and husband, Daniel; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Graves Chapel Cemetery in Stanley, VA.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
