Age 86, Shenandoah, Va.
Doris “Minnie” June Comer, 86, of Shenandoah, VA passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Skyview Springs Nursing & Rehabilitation, in Luray.
She was born on March 14, 1940 in New Market, VA and was the daughter of the late Herman L. Buracker and Georgia Knupp Buracker.
Minnie loved gardening, flowers and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed yard sales and shopping.
Surviving family members include a daughter, Doris Comer Burns; grandson, Rodney Burns and partner, Camille Flores; great-granddaughter, Isabella Burns; sisters, Manilla S. Good, Anna G. Davis, Annis L. Price, Amelia L. Baker, Trenna D. Spitler, Darlene W. Cook, Carolyn K. Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Comer in 2007 and two brothers, Herman M. “Oscar” Buracker and Harold W. “Tucker” Buracker.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the funeral home.
