Ernest Eugene Campbell, age 65, of Stanley, Va. died Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va.

He was born on Saturday, August 28, 1954, in War, West Va. as the son of the late Arthur Edward “Buss” and Mozetta Helen Campbell.

He was the owner and operator of E. C. Builders until retiring in 2010.

He married Mary Elizabeth (Cubbage) Campbell on July 7, 1972.

Also surviving are daughter Stephanie Campbell of Stanley, Va.; son Ernie and wife Leyna Campbell of Harrisonburg, Va.; daughter Carrie and husband Shawn (Campbell) Dean of Stanley, Va.; brother Jack T. Campbell of Stanley, Va.; brother Kenneth Campbell of Washington; brother Robert W. Campbell of Stanley, Va.; sister Stella “Louabell” Campbell of Stanley, Va.; sister Betty Homsey of Maryland; sister Irene F. Jenkins of Luray, Va.; granddaughter Ariel Roe; grandson Matthew Campbell; granddaughter Hannah Campbell; grandson Easton Damico; and grandson Kelton Damico. 

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Annette E. Alger, Marie M. Bailey, Brenda L. Breeden and Edith E. Adams; and a brother, Elmer Edward Campbell.

A funeral service will be held at the Stanley New Hope Pentecostal on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11 a.m.  Memorials may be made to University of Virginia Cancer Center, 1215 Lee St. Charlottesville, Va.
