February 16, 1961 — According to the Associated Press a permit has been granted by the Federal Communications Commission to Harry A. Epperson Sr. for broadcasting from Luray on a wave length of 1330.
The permit is for a one kilowatt daytime station. It is understood that Leo Shirley has rented land to the firm for the building of the station and that it will be in operation in two or three months.
For time being it is reported that the quarters will be in the Shirley resident near the Caverns.
Mr. Epperson is expected in Luray next week.
