First Miss PCHS crowned

November 23, 1961Petite Miss Joyce Griffith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Griffith of Stanley, was selected the first Miss Page County High School in a beauty pageant, sponsored by the senior class of PCHS Saturday night of last week.

Miss Griffith, a tiny brunette, wore a white gown. She received an orchid corsage and a loving cup.

William H. Wood, principal of the school, acted as master of ceremonies and crowned the winner.

First runner- up was Miss Norma Hensley, 18, a member of the senior class, and Miss Louella Breeden, 17, was second runner- up.

Miss Hensley, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hensley, also wore a white gown, and Miss Breeden, who wore a red gown, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Breeden of Shenandoah.
