Flowers burn at the Inn

Luray Inn

March 27, 1890 — The green house at the Inn in this place was destroyed by fire last Monday morning about 2 o’clock.

The fire caught from the furnace, but was not discovered by the watchman till too late to prevent the destruction of all the flowers and shrubs in the building, the value of which the florist, Mr. Irvin, estimates at $1,500.

The blaze illuminated the premises with a great light, but owing to the hours at which it occurred was seen by but few of our people.
