Age 63, Luray, Va.
It is with heavy hearts that we remember and honor the life of Franklin “Frankie” Lee Payton, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and cherished family member from Luray, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Myrtle “Sally” Frye, father Steve Newman and nephew Bronson Porter.
Franklin leaves to cherish his memories, children Aaron Gill, Sarah Price, Dillion, Christopher Oliver, and Curtis Oliver; beloved grandchildren; sisters Mable Frye, Edith Jones and Tammy Newman; brothers Jerrylee Frye, Rexford Frye, Kenneth Frye, Howard Payton and Richard Payton; and an array of nieces, nephews, many family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Franklin was a fun-loving and caring man whose contagious smile had a way of bringing joy to those around him. He had a warmth about him that made him special to the people who knew and loved him. His presence brought laughter, his love brought comfort, and the memories he created will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends.
Above all, Franklin was family. He will be remembered for the love he shared, the smiles he brought to others, and the moments that made life a little brighter. Though words may never fully express the sorrow of losing someone so dear, the love he gave and the memories he leaves behind will continue to live on through those who knew him.
As we remember Franklin, we are reminded that although death brings separation, love never truly fades. The laughter, the stories, the shared moments, and the memories of his contagious smile will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched.
Though our hearts grieve his passing, we find comfort in God’s promise of eternal love and peace. May those who mourn his loss find strength in one another, comfort in their cherished memories, and peace in knowing that a life filled with love leaves a legacy that time cannot erase.
A Scripture of Comfort:
“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” — Psalm 34:18 (KJV)
Franklin Lee Payton will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. May his memory continue to bring smiles to the faces of those who loved him, even through their tears.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, at the Bradley Funeral Home by his sister, Mable Frye.
