August 16, 1958 — Mrs. Daisy Smith of Stanley won a free trip for two to New York City in a contest which was decided on “Shenandoah Showcase,” Tuesday, Aug. 5, on WSVA-TV, Channel 3. The contest, which ran throughout the month of July, was sponsored jointly by Blue Ridge Wholesale Grocers, WSVA and the Trailways Bus system on behalf of independent Neighborhood Stores of the area.
