Grove Hill barn burns

Old country road

October 6, 1887 — The large barn of David A. Huffman, Esq., who lives near Grove Hill in this county, was destroyed by fire last Monday morning about 3 o’clock.

Mr. H. had in his barn at the time about 350 bushels of wheat, 25 bushels of clover seed, 30 tones of hay, the principle portion of his farm implements, wagons, harness and provender, all of which were destroyed.

The fire is supposed to have been the work of an incendiary, as no other possible cause can be assigned. There was no insurance on either the barn or its contents, and the loss falls very heavily upon Mr. Huffman.
