
Age 92, Shenandoah, Va.
Betty Lou Good Turner, 92, of Shenandoah, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025 at Life Care Center in New Market, Va. She was born July 12, 1932 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Gladys Taylor Propes and step-father, Jimmy Propes and Emmitt Good.
Mrs. Turner was a longtime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening and canning. She retired from Alliance and previously worked at the knitting mill. She was a devoted wife, and an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by all those who loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Howard “J.T.” Turner and a son, Jackie L. Turner; brothers, Bill Good, Franklin “Sam” Good; a great-granddaughter, Sara Monger.
She is survived by her sons, William J. “Billy” Turner and wife, Joanne, Eddie Turner and wife, Lisa, Donnie Turner and companion, Suzanne, all of Shenandoah; daughter, Cinda Mathias and husband, Bob of Mathias, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Doris Good of Shenandoah; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2025 at George Comer Cemetery in Shenandoah with Pastor Ellen Hensley Martin officiating.
The family would like to thank Life Care Center in New Market, especially Tina, Amanda and Savannah, for the excellent care and love she received while she was in their care.
