Hensley and Kite still leading Panthers’ cross country, Senior Night on Thursday

SHENANDOAH — Last Wednesday at Strasburg, the Page County High School boys cross country team defeated cross-county rival Luray, 25-33. Aaron Hensley led Page with a 2nd place finish, followed by  Asher Kite (6th), Sean Cave (7th), Trenton Eppard (8th), and Trevor Comer (10th). 

Strasburg’s girls cross country team beat Page, 21-35.  Senior Summer Kite led Page with a 4th place finish, with Maryn Cave (8th) and Emma Rinaca (10th) having top 10 finishes.

On Saturday, the Page Boys finished 2nd in the Stars division at the Generals XC Invitational at New Market Battlefield. Hensley finished and Asher Kite was 11th, as both medaled in the race. Other Top 25 finishes included Cave (18th) and Eppard (25th).

In the girls race, Summer Kite came in 7th and medaled to lead the Page girls, with Cave in 19th and August Beatty in 20th. 

In the boys B race, Gavin Barlow was the Stars division winner with Taite Kite in 4th, Jaxon Staples in 5th, Grant Baugher 9th, and Evan Montana 12th — all medaling.  

The Panthers next cross country meet will be Senior Night this Thursday, Oct. 12 at Buddy Comer Stadium.  Festivities begin at 5:05 p.m., and the race begins at 5:30 p.m.
