LURAY — A belated honor goes out to Luray High School’s Cameron Weaver who shot an 88 at the Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Harrisonburg on Sept. 19 to help Luray advance the Bulldogs to the Region B tournament, while also earning second team All-District honors in the Bull Run Tournament.
It was the first time the Bulldogs had advanced to regional post-season action since coach Gwen Burley took over.
“This has seriously been a five-year dig, a claw, a climb, to have a TEAM spot for the Bulldogs!” Burley posted on social media.
Luray finished third at the district tournament and carded a 375 — beating out Madison, Central, Strasburg and Page. Rappahannock finished ahead of Luray, but competes at the Class 1 level for postseason play.
