John Thomas Campbell, 60, of Disputanta, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center in Petersburg.
John was born on November 12, 1965, in Warrenton, Virginia. He was the son of Fannie Elizabeth Buchanan Campbell of Williamsburg and the late James Mack Campbell.
John dedicated many years to serving others and was a life member of the Luray Volunteer Rescue Squad and Southside Virginia Emergency Crew. He was also an active member of the Prince George community. John coached sports through the Prince George Recreation Department, assisted with high school sports, and especially loved basketball. He was also a member of Heights Baptist Church in Colonial Heights.
On March 14, 1992, John married Hope Griffith Campbell, who survives him.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his two sons, JonRyan Mack Campbell and wife, Anne, of Roanoke, and Logan Wayne Campbell and wife, Nola, of Greenville, North Carolina; his sister, Elizabeth Francis of Costa Rica; and his two grandchildren, Grayson and Makenna.
John will be remembered by his family, friends, and community for the life he lived, the people he loved, his dedication to serving others, and his commitment to the Prince George community.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, at Bradley Funeral Home, with Pastor Peter Caggiano officiating. Burial will follow at Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
Flowers may be sent to Bradley Funeral Home, or memorial contributions may be made to the Luray Volunteer Rescue Squad in John’s memory.
