Larry Douglas Wood, 74, of Fairfax, Va. passed away on Monday, Jan.10, 2022.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1947, in Luray and was a son of the late Raymond Douglas Wood Jr. and Grace M. Petefish Wood.
Larry was an Army veteran and had worked as a manager at Safeway for 38 years. He was a member of the Page United Methodist Church.
On Jan. 22, 1966, he married Mary Ellen Keyser Wood, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Allen Wood and wife Lisa of South Riding, and Brian Wood and wife Jessica of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Sherry Fugate and husband Randy of Centreville; two grandsons, Nicholas and Jacob Fugate, both of Centreville; and two granddaughters, Ashleigh Wood of South Riding, and Olivia Fugate of Centreville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Housden.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Laura Schultz, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray, with military honors by the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621.
