Age 82, Luray, Va.
Lemuel Mervin Waters, 82, of Luray, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born on September 30, 1940, and Luray and was a son of the late Lemuel Ervin Waters and Beulah Middleton Waters.
Mr. Waters worked as a press operator for Wallace Business Forms for 35 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Mount Carmel Regular Baptist Church.
On Dec. 29, 1967, he married Joyce Ann Campbell Waters, who died on April 24, 2021.
He is survived by two sons, Lemuel Edward Waters of Luray, and Gregory Scott Waters of Crozet; a brother, Leroy Waters of Luray; a sister, Deloris Waters of Luray; and two grandchildren, Kendall Regan Waters of Crozet, and Jared Logan Waters of Luray.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Vivian Baker, Lyda Seekford and Lucy Stevens; and three brothers, William “Dutch” Waters, Oliver Waters and Elbert Waters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Mike Nichols, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
