LHS volleyball wins second-straight district championship

FEBRUARY 7, 1987 — Luray’s varsity volleyball team applied the finishing touch on its second straight Skyline District championship season Monday night by overcoming a first- game loss for a 12-15, 15-11, 15-10 victory over visiting Madison County. The Bulldogs’ path to first place was paved by Buffalo Gap’s victory over second-place Riverheads the same night.According to coach Pat Strickler, the championship gave Luray a bye in Wednesday’s opening round of the district tournament at Wilson Memorial.
