Age 65, Elkton, Va.
Lisa Faye McAlister, 65, of Elkton, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
She was born February 1, 1961 in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of the late Edward H. “Big Mac” McAlister and Margaret Elizabeth Ferrell McAlister. In addition to her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Terry W. Palmer; sisters, Ann Shifflett and husband, Lebert, Linda Rimel.
Lisa grew up in Shenandoah and attended Page County High School. She attended Elkton Seventh Day Adventist Church, and loved spending time with family and friends and was “Momma” to all her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds, her fur babies and her special dog, Sadie. Lisa was a devoted sister, aunt and friend, who will be missed by all those who loved her.
Lisa is survived by her siblings, Guy Monger Jr. and wife, Deborah, Shelia Bacon, Shirley Turner and husband, Bill, Vickie Harmon and husband, Wayne, brother-in-law, Nelson Rimel; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will celebrate Lisa’s life privately. Burial will be at a later date in McAlister-Cave Family Cemetery in Comertown.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
