Age 87, Luray, Va.
Gene Anthony Albarado, 87, of Luray, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Luray.
He was born on May 3, 1939, in Plaquemine, LA, and was a son of the late Eugene Joseph Albarado Jr. and Alexina Morales Bergeron.
Gene was Catholic by faith.
On November 23, 1960, he married Eleanor Mead Albarado, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by a daughter, Terri Mayes and husband Clay of Luray; a son, Michael Anthony Albarado of Pocomoke City, MD; three grandchildren, Keith William Short and wife Kate of Shenandoah, Alexis Nicole Albarado of Pocomoke City, MD, and Aidan Samuel Mayes of Luray; and one great-grandchild, Callen Short of Shenandoah.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Anthony Albarado and Jerry Paul Albarado; and one grandson, David Wright.
Services will be held at a later date.
