Dear Editor:
On July 25, local Democrats sponsored a very successful “Ice Cream Social” at Main Street Flavors in Luray, to support the Page County Animal Shelter.
The effort raised more than $400 in shelter supplies, including dog food, cat food, and cleaning supplies — plus nearly $300 in cash donations.
The event put ice cream in many stomachs, smiles on the faces of pet owners, and – we imagine — smiles on the faces of many pets.
