LURAY, June 7 — Members of a grand jury in Page County Circuit Court earlier this month issued a true bill on a total of 38 indictments handed down Wednesday, June 7 on charges placed among 21 individuals.
Those indicted by the June 7 grand jury include:
• William Clayton Stillwill, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 3 felony for malicious wounding. The offense and an arrest occurred on March 9, 2023, according to court documents. Stillwill is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 for a hearing.
• Nicole Cherie Wilson, of Inwood, W.Va., was indicted on three Class 6 felonies for child abuse/disregard for life, and four Class 1 misdemeanors including three direct indictments for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of reckless driving (20-plus MPH above speed limit). All offenses and an arrest occurred on January 21, 2023, according to court records. Wilson is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 for a status hearing.
• Rebecca Lynn Mallete, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for the assault of a law enforcement officer or documented person. The offense and an arrest occurred on April 15, 2023, according to court records. Mallete is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 .m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023 for a hearing.
• Michael Sean Baker, of Luray, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for a Tier III sex offense registration violation (second offense). The offenses occurred on February 20, 2023 and February 27, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest date for both of March 20, 2023. Baker is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 for a hearing.
• Timothy Andrew Courtney, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for illegal wearing of a mask, an unclassified felony for entering a structure to commit assault and battery, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for trespassing after being forbidden from a property. All offenses occurred on February 2, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest date of February 2, 2023 for trespass and an arrest date of March 24, 2023 for the other two charges. Courtney is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 for a hearing.
• Stephen Alan Noser, of Luray, Va., received a direct indictment on a Class 6 felony for non-violent felony possession of a gun within 10 years of felony conviction, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for failure to appear in court on June 7. The gun possession offense and an arrest occurred on November 10, 2022, according to court records. A capias warrant has been issued for Noser’s arrest.
• Stacy Denise Painter, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for a third or subsequent driving while intoxicated charge, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for refusing a breath test (subsequent charge within 10 years). Both the offenses and an arrest occurred on April 29, 2023, according to court records. Painter is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023 for a trial.
• Donnie Lee Hoover of Churchville, Va. was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug, and two Class 1 misdemeanors for driving while intoxicated (drugs) and driving while his license was revoked or suspended. All offenses and an arrest occurred on Aug. 11, 2022, according to court records. Hoover is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 for a hearing.
• Nicole Amanda MacDonald, (a.k.a – Nichole MacDonald Culver) of Luray and Stanley, Va.(both listed on court files), was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for unauthorized possession of drug paraphernalia. Both offenses and an arrest occurred on July 30, 2022, according to court records. MacDonald was scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 for a hearing.
• Matthew William Sly, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug and a Class 1 misdemeanor for driving while his license was revoked or suspended. The drug offense occurred on Sept. 26, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest on Jan. 26, 2023. The traffic violation occurred on Nov. 18, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest on Jan. 26, 2023. Sly was scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 for a bond hearing. He is slated for a jury trial at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023.
• Joseph Adam Tharp, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for driving while intoxicated (drugs, third or subsequent offense) and a Class 1 misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock. The offenses occurred on Aug. 18, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest on Feb. 22, 2023. Tharp is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023 for a jury trial.
• Tina B. Wofford, of Howell, N.J., was indicted on two Class 1 misdemeanors for reckless driving and failure to appear in court on June 7. The reckless driving offense occurred on Sept. 21, 2022, according to court records, with no arrest date listed. A capias warrant was issued for Wofford’s arrest.
• Christopher J. Huffman, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for providing a false statement on criminal history consent. The offense occurred on Jan. 3, 2021, according to court records, with an arrest on Dec. 14, 2022. Huffman is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023 for a hearing.
• Robert John Beaty, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Feb. 25, 2023, according to court records. Beaty is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 for a hearing.
• Allen Keith Comer, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on April 24, 2023, according to court records. Comer is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 for a hearing.
• Richard Eugene Culver, of Rileyville, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 29, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on March 10, 2023. Culver was scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 for a status hearing.
• David Austin McAlister, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Jan. 4, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Feb. 17, 2023. McAlister was scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 for a bond hearing. He is also scheduled for an additional hearing at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
• Katherine Louise Montcalm, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Nov. 5, 2022, according to court records. Montcalm is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 for a hearing.
• Marsha M. Rosser, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Nov. 5, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest on Jan. 1, 2023. Rosser is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 for a hearing.
• Rachel M. Shawver, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Aug. 28, 2022, according to court records, with an arrest date of Nov. 28, 2022. Shawver was scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 for a hearing.
• Keith Scott Weaver, of Luray, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on Sept. 12, 2021, according to court records. Weaver was scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 for a hearing.
Grand jury hearings are held the first Wednesday of each month in Page County Circuit Court.
