LURAY, Dec. 26 — Page County senior Faith Mason has lead the Panthers to a 5-3 start heading into tomorrow’s non-district matchup at Skyline. All three losses are to Class 3 competition, including two to a tough Turner Ashby squad. However, inside the Bull Run District, the Panthers sit atop the early standings at 2-0.
Although she only scored four points in the first quarter and two in the second, Mason posted 13 second-half points and lead Page County with 19 against Madison on Dec. 19 in the Panthers’ district opening win, 62-46.
The senior has hit a game-high 16 points against East Rock, scoring seven of the Panther’s final 10 points, tying the game at 41-41 with 2:23 left and then leading Page on an 8-0 run to finish the game. Mason also hit a three-pointer that broke a tie and spurred a 12-point win over Broadway.
Mason has played well on both sides of the ball and has proven to be a leader on the court. The senior will continue to be a key part of the Panthers’ future success this season.
