Age 82, Luray, Va.

Nancy Lou Housden Shenk Campbell, 82, of Luray, died on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021.

She was born on April 10, 1939, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Clarence Housden and Elton Virginia Cubbage Housden.

Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren in Stanley.

Her first husband, Charles Franklin Shenk, preceded her in death.

On Jan. 5, 1996, she married Ronald Lee Campbell, who died on Sept. 4, 2016.

She is survived by three daughters, JoAnn Tawose and Barbara Jones, both of Luray, and P. “Kay” Price of Stanley; two sons, Edward Shenk and “Lucky” Campbell, both of Rileyville; two stepdaughters, Kathryn Alger and Carlee Iverson; three sisters, Martha Graves and Carolyn Dovel, both of Stanley, and Bonnie Dovel of Shenandoah; a brother, Shirley “Smokey” Housden of Stanley; her caregiver, Diana Good of Stanley; 26 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Chuckie” Shenk; two brothers, Robert “Buddy” and William Housden; and two sisters, Emma Huffman West and Betty Painter.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, at the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren by Evangelist Doug Gochenour, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 2-3 p.m. Burial will be in the Graves Chapel Cemetery in Stanley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren, Stanley, Va. 22851; or to the  Stanley Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 126, Stanley.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
