This weekend the Town of Shenandoah will have plenty of activities for locals and visitors.

On Friday night, July 10, Nashville recording artist SJ McDonald will be performing live at 6:30 p.m. on the patio at Boxcar Deli and Subs. Seating will be limited due to social distancing. Plan to bring a chair for seating outside the fenced area. Free admission.

Kicking off the evening on Friday will be a Cruz In on First Street beginning at 6 p.m. This is the first Cruz In of the season, and there will be no entry fees. First Street will be closed to through traffic beginning at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, July 11, the Shenandoah Recreation League will be selling BBQ chicken from the Chicken Shack at the Shenandoah Carnival Grounds for $5 a half.

Also on Saturday, July 11, another Cruise-In will be held at the Shenandoah Moose Lodge Bottom from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. BBQ chicken will be for sale by 10 a.m. for $4 a half, along with other food options. Door prizes and dash plaques will be awarded during the event. Live bluegrass will be offered from 8 to 12.

Upcoming events in the Town of Shenandoah include:

  • Friday, July 24 — Music in the Park at 7 p.m. with Just One More Bluegrass Band.
  • Thursday, July 30 — Outdoor Family Movie Night, “Ratatouille,” free popcorn and drink.
  • August 29-30 — Art in the Park at Big Gem 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
