Nelson Louis Burner, 78, of Luray, Va. passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1943, and was a son of the late Rufus D. Burner and Etta Mae Rothgeb Burner.
On June 10, 1965, Nelson married Donna Lee Campbell Burner, who died on June 12, 2018.
He is survived by three sons, Patrick Burner of Luray, David Nelson Burner and wife Elena of Pensacola, Fla., and Mark Andrew Burner and wife Meg of Luray; a sister, Sally Burkholder of New Market; one granddaughter, Hillary Martz of New Market; a grandson, R. Joe Martz and wife Aerial of Harrisonburg; two great-grandsons, Evan Martz of New Market, and Jacob Martz of Harrisonburg; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Cribbs and wife Debbie of Luray.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Elsie M. Dorman, Clara Burner, Phyllis V. Burner and Ruth Funkhouser; and two brothers, Donald Lee Burner and Sonny Burner.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Josh Parlett, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m.
