July 20, 1989 — No marijuana plants were recovered in a Page County air search last week, according to Sheriff E.M.“Pap”Sedwick.

Law enforcement officials including the Virginia State Police and local officers flew aboard a helicopter to comb the county in search of marijuana plants.

“They spent the day here and didn’t fine plant one,” Sedwick said. “ … They found places where some had been pulled up.”

In Rappahannock County, agents found two patches off Va. Route 631 west of Huntly near Shenandoah National Park. A total number of 59 plants were confiscated, having a street value of between $50,000 and $60,000 authorities said.
