Weekly YouTube show dives into various issues in the Page Valley, while also reporting the Week in Review and checking out the Weekend Ahead
By Randy Arrington
LURAY, Jan. 10 — This week “Page Valley Livin'” visits with Miles Morimoto of Performing Arts of Luray (PAL) to talk about new programming, a new stage, and what’s in the lineup for the 2024 season at the Rebecca J. Graves Regional Center for the Performing Arts.
Performing Arts of Luray was established in 2005 as a local non-profit, and one year later acquired the former BB&T bank building at the intersection of Business 211 and 340, square in the middle of Downtown Luray. From musical performances to stand-up comedians, PAL has given the community a gateway into a world of entertainment that locals usually have to travel an hour or two to experience live.
Miles has volunteered with PAL since he moved to Luray more than two years ago. Recently, he worked with Audre King to bring in inmate labor to help construct a new, more stable, stage at the performing arts center, and he has been working to bring Kennedy Center-level performers to our small stage in Downtown Luray.
On Saturday, Jan. 27, PAL will feature The Stephanian Nakasian Trio at 7:30 p.m.

Miles was also kind enough to play “The 5Ws” with us, where we talked about his favorite performance at PAL (it happened to be mine as well); his favorite style of live performance; and why a cultural resource like PAL is so important to the community as a whole.
As always, we’ll look back at “the week that was” in the Page Valley with a review of news headlines and sports, and we’ll tell you about some upcoming events to look out for this weekend.
(Page Valley Livin’ ~ Episode 9 was recorded on Tuesday, Jan. 9 and first aired Wednesday, Jan. 10).
Coming up on Page Valley Livin’… we’ll be visiting with PCHS girls basketball coach E.J. Wyant to talk about the success that the second-place Panthers have had this season. The episode (No. 10) will air just prior to next Tuesday’s county rivalry games on Jan. 16 at Page County High School.
We’re also open to ideas…if you have one for an upcoming show — an interesting person you know with an interesting story — send us an email or provide a comment below.
The aim and purpose of these videos is to provide more information about more things that make up the wonderful place we call the Page Valley of Virginia. Serious issues will be handled seriously, while lighter issues may offer more opportunity to have some fun. There is no theme or agenda other than promoting the Page Valley, and trying to better inform the people who both live here and those who love to visit.
