On November 12, 1960, she married the love of her life Roscoe Clark Richards, who left her side on November 25, 2013.

She is survived by a brother, Melvin William “Buddy” Cave and wife Carol of Luray. Between the two of them they had two beautiful daughters, Tammy Sue Richards Sours and husband Daniel of Luray, and Abby Lynn Richards Ellis and husband Gary Wayne of Luray.

She was a proud grandmother of Adam Wayne Siegler and companion Tiffany Marteney, and Danielle Nicole Sours Alger and husband Davy of Luray. She also has three beautiful great-grandchildren, Lillian “Lilly” Mae Alger, Christian Emmett Siegler and Danner Jackson Alger, all of Luray.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson, Daniel Charles Sours II.

Patty attended Trinity Church of the Brethren all of her life and provided the children’s story for 35 years on a flannel graph board. Not only did the children love it, but the adults did too. She was very dedicated and faithful to the church. She served on the church board, was a Sunday school teacher, treasurer, president of the Women’s Fellowship, was a Bible school teacher and prepared many meals for all occasions. She served her Lord well.

Patty also enjoyed taking numerous trips to visit family in Ohio and New York. Her family, Jimmy Dale Richards and Laura Holan, will miss her daily phone calls.

Patty will be taken to Trinity Church of the Brethren, where visitation will be held on Sunday, October 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will also be held at the church on Monday, October 3, at 11 a.m., where a meal will follow to celebrate her life.
