Age 64, Shenandoah, Va.
Patty Shuler Whitmer, 64, of Shenandoah, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Patty was born in Harrisonburg, Va. on July 28, 1957 to Page Melvin Shuler and the late Betty Jane McCoy Shuler.
Mrs. Whitmer graduated from Page County High School in the class of 1975.
She went on to marry her husband of 39 years, Frank William Whitmer III on April 25, 1982.
Patty had a passion for animals. She worked with animal shelters in the area, and would transfer dogs to the no-kill shelters in New York. Patty was the founder of Page Paws helping over 2,000 cats get fixed last year. She enjoyed spending her free time at the beach, she especially loved Sunset Beach in North Carolina and most importantly loved her family.
In addition to her husband, Patty is survived by her sons; Michael Whitmer and Robert “Bert” Whitmer, daughter; Diane D. Shifflett and husband, Danny, seven grandchildren; Natalie Demoss and husband, Bryce, Hailey, and Justin Shifflett, Savannah, Hannah, Annah, Shyannah Whitmer, and one great-grandchild; Asher Shifflett.

Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
