LURAY, Sept. 30 — This week Page Valley News awards a belated “Athlete of the Week” honor to Page County High School senior quarterback Hayden Plum, who rushed for 230 yards and four touchdowns in the Panthers’ 44-25 homecoming win over Bath County on Sept. 30.

While Plum’s performance was truly outstanding, it came during a week that featured several amazing athletic feats, including a LHS cross country team that put several names in the record books at a single event. While it comes a week late, Plum truly deserves recognition for a great outing on Panther Field at Buddy Comer Stadium in front of a homecoming crowd.

PVN would also like to acknowledge PCHS senior Ty Davis, who posted 231 yards during the homecoming win with two touchdowns. Page County racked up an impressive 492 yards on the ground after running the ball 55 times against Bath.

PVN also throws out an Honorable Mention honor to LHS sophomore Drayvin Stevens who not only jumped on an onside-kick Friday night at Central, but he also snagged an interception in the second half and sprinted 80 yards for a pick six that helped put the huge district win away.
