NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND
INTENTION TO VACATE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY
BY LURAY TOWN COUNCIL
NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to § 15.2-2006 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, that Luray’s Town Council shall hold a public hearing on July 14, 2025, at 7 p.m. The public hearing shall be conducted in the Luray Town Council Chambers located at 45 East Main Street in the Town of Luray, Virginia.
Public comment may also be submitted until 12 noon on July 14, 2025, through any of the following means: Email: bchrisman@townofluray.com; Mail: Luray Town Manager, Post Office Box 629, Luray, Virginia, 22835; Hand delivery: Place in the exterior DROP BOX in the alcove located at the front of the Town’s offices facing Main Street; or Phone: (540)743- All comments must include the commentor’s name and address to be read aloud at the hearing. This hearing will be live streamed on the Town’s Website Live Stream Link. All normal Rules of Procedure will be followed.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments and to consider the following:

The applicant, Curt Brodie, has requested that the Town vacate the portion of the undeveloped public right-of-way (alleyway) accessible from Eighth Avenue that lies between Tax Map Parcel Nos. 42A12-3-44-3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 on Fifth Street and Tax Map Parcel Nos. 42A12-3-44-10, 12, 12A, 14, 14A, and 17 on Sixth Street. If the request is granted, the Town will divest any current public interest in the right-of-way and any interest which might be found or discovered in the future. All interested people may appear and present their views at the public hearing.
