Age 70, Luray, Va.
Richard Stoddard “Pops” Walker, 70, of Luray, passed away on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021.
He was born on June 13, 1951, in Jacksonville, Fla., and was a son of the late Robert Walker and Rossie DeFee Walker.
“Pops” was a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army, with 20 years of service. He was a singer and songwriter.
On Sept. 22, 1984, he married Roberta Wells, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Zach Walker of Georgia; and two brothers, George Walker and wife Ritu, and Robert Walker and wife Erin, all of Jacksonville, Fla.

Services are planned for a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
My mother and his mother were friends and when they got together on many friday nights us kids would run through the woods looking for snipe. Ricky, as i called him was a year younger than me. Probably he was 15 or younger when he started bringing a guitar to those visits. He would bang out Jimi Hendrix with his own style.
I remember much and it was all good mostly.
