Age 85, Silver Spring, Md.

Robert Julian “Bob” Hall, 85 of Silver Spring, Md. passed away on Wed. Aug. 4, 2021 after battling declining health and a month-long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Montgomery Hills Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Md. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in Rockville, MD. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral at the church at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021.

Bob was born in Washington, D.C. to parents Hilda and Julian Hall. Bob is the identical twin of William “Bill” Hall of Shenandoah, Va.

Bob and his parents, along with older sister, Mary (deceased 2005) attended Montgomery Hills Baptist Church for many years. At the time of his death, Bob was the oldest living member of the church, having attended since he was born. Bob’s faith was very important to him.

Bob attended McKinley Tech High School in Washington, D.C. He played football and worked in a gas station while learning the plumbing trade. After working in the plumbing business, Bob decided to move into the automobile industry. He worked for several dealerships and gained a lot of experience as a mechanic. He went on to work for Sport Chevrolet as a mechanic and later as the shuttle driver. He worked there for 45 years until his retirement in 2015. His dedication to the company was exemplary and he took great pride in his work.

Bob met Norma Diane Stout later in life at Montgomery Hills. They were married on May 22, 1982. They took many wonderful trips together. Helping others, doing ministry together and special times spent in Deep Creek, Md. were enjoyed for 20 years. Diane passed away in 2002.

Bob loved baseball, especially the Orioles, and never missed a game. He held season’s tickets and would host a group of friends to join him for the fun. In his earlier days, he enjoyed boating, fishing and waterskiing. He excelled at all three. From childhood to adulthood, Bob and his family spent many years at Chesapeake Beach. His affection for the outdoors and God’s creation began at an early age.

Bob is survived by his identical twin Bill Hall of Shenandoah, Va., his niece Cindy Good of Stanley, Va., his nephew and wife Chris and Pam Hall of Stanley, Va., grandnieces, grandnephews, his “daughter” and friend Peggy and a host of people all around the communities of Silver Spring, Md. and Shenandoah, Va. who will miss him dearly.
