March 28, 1962 — The Board of Directors of the Luray Chamber of Commerce in session Monday night, made plans to promote Luray’s sesquicentennial during the week of Aug. 20-25 when the Page Valley Fair is scheduled.

The Board stated that no elaborate celebration is planned but that it felt an appropriate observance during Fair Week should be held in respect to the 150 years of civic enterprise and social tradition of the community.

The plan has been approved by the Fair Association and this year’s theme will be “Luray’s Sesquicentennial.”
