Age 86, Stanley, Va.
Shirley Ann Hackley Dovel, 86, of Stanley, died on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living.
She was born on May 16, 1935, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Norman Hackley and Velma Comer Hackley.
On April 22, 1955, she married James Elmer Dovel, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister, Delores Ferrell of Shenandoah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Nauman and Illena Aleshire.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, at the Leake’s Chapel Church of the Brethren in Stanley by Pastor Andy Seastrom. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
