July 29, 1983 — A Jollet Hollow man fired a shotgun blast Sunday at two men who allegedly were breaking into a car parked on his property, police said. The homeowner told Page County Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Frady one of the trespassers may have been wounded by the blast.
According to Frady’s incident report, the shooting occurred at 9:40 p.m. when the homeowner looked out a window in his home and saw two men entering a car owned by his brother-in-law. The man told the deputy he then fired at the men with a 12-gauge shotgun and said he “might have hit one of them.” Pat of the blast struck the front fender of the car, Frady said.
No suspects have been charged and the case is still under investigation.
